ALUPROF warmly invites you to join the Future Builders 2024 conference. On 16th October, prominent architects and other experts will be discussing the construction industry of the future.
The upcoming edition of the Future Builders conference will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Warsaw on 16th October. Organised by leading aluminium architectural solutions manufacturer ALUPROF, this one-of-a-kind event sees eminent architects from Poland and around the world coming together with other construction industry experts to debate the future of architecture and the directions for development that forward-looking building should be taking. The panellists this year include José Pareja Gómez of the renowned Zaha Hadid Architects and Ian Bogle, the founder of the multiple award-winning architecture and design studio Bogle Architects, which operates in more than twenty-five countries, along with leading Polish architects like Andrzej M. Chołdzyński, Ewa Kuryłowicz, Agnieszka Kalinowska-Sołtys, Przemo Łukasik, Marcin Sadowski and Zbigniew Maćków.

Future Builders is an international conference that focuses on the most crucial issues facing global architecture. The purpose of the initiative, which has already won industry acclaim, is to create a space for substantive discussion about the future of the construction industry, with a particular focus on matters like sustainability, innovativeness, technological progress and trends in architecture. The next edition of the conference will be held on 16th October at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, ul. Skalinowska 21, Warsaw. The event, which starts at 10.00 AM, will be hosted by journalist and television presenter Marcin Prokop. The conference is open to the public, but the limit on the number of places means that pre-registration is required. To pre-register, simply fill in the form available here. Absorbing discussions with contributions from esteemed architects and experts from abroad
The programme for offers three panel discussions featuring distinguished architects and other experts, along with a presentation of the winner of the 2022 Building of the Year Created with ALUPROF Systems competition. The members of the Sustainability in architecture: A genuine necessity or just a trend? panel will be award-winning Macedonian architect Besian Mehmeti, Lukáš Romanczin, who is an expert in the design of innovative façade solutions, José Pareja Gómez of the highly respected Zaha Hadid Architects and Marios Tsiliakos, a design systems analyst and specialist in complex geometry and design based on parameter optimisation.
In a discussion entitled New or ReNEWed. Revitalising buildings as the future of architecture, the next panel will tackle the vital topic of regenerating buildings. The speakers will be Bledion Baraliu, one of the pioneers who introduced the use of BIM technology to architecture in Kosovo and the Southern Balkans, Colman Billings, Managing Director of Billings Design Associates and a contemporary façade design specialist, architect Ian Bogle, introduced earlier in this article, Razvan Puchici, an architect and managing partner of respected Romanian studio Cumulus Architecture SRL and Agnieszka Kalinowska-Sołtys, who is a member of the Polish Architects’ Association’s (SARP) Architectural Committee and a co-founder of the Polish Institute for Sustainable Building and who served as the President of SARP from 2022 to 2024.
Next to take the floor will be distinguished architect Professor Ewa Kuryłowicz of the renowned Kuryłowicz & Associates. She will be giving a talk on the Faculty of Modern Languages and Institute of Applied Linguistics building at the University of Warsaw. The work of Kuryłowicz & Associates, it is one of the most interesting construction projects to be built in Poland in recent years and, in 2022, its exceptional design, its functionality and the architectural solutions it features won the appreciation of the jurors in the fourth edition of the Building of the Year Created with ALUPROF Systems, who awarded it the first prize.
The final item on the conference programme is a panel discussion addressing an intriguing question; Is a decade long enough in architecture? Given that it will be taking place on the occasion of the jubilee fifth edition of the Building of the Year Created with ALUPROF Systems competitions, the panellists will be the outstanding Polish architects who are the winners of the previous editions, Andrzej M. Chołdzyński, Ewa Kuryłowicz, Przemo Łukasik, Zbigniew Maćków and Marcin Sadowski.

The crowning moment! The Building of the Year Created with ALUPROF Systems awards ceremony
The Future Builders conference will be followed in the evening by the 2024 Building of the Year Created with ALUPROF Systems competition awards ceremony, when the results will be announced, with prizes of PLN 50,000 for the first place, PLN 30,000 for the runner-up and PLN 15,000 for the third place. The purpose of the competition is to promote the best architectural projects featuring aluminium solutions by ALUPROF and built in Poland and around the world. This year marks the jubilee fifth edition of this prominent event. Its importance is borne out by the number of buildings in Poland and abroad that were entered for the previous competitions. The total is almost six hundred, situated not only in Poland, but also in countries including Belgium, the Czech Republic, the UK and the USA. The list of winners features prestigious and much admired buildings like the .KTW office complex in Katowice, Poland, the University of Warsaw’s Faculty of Modern Languages and Institute of Applied Linguistics, Hotel Nobu Warsaw, the Warsaw Breweries complex, Green2day in Wrocław, Poland, Sara Kulturhus in Skellefteå, Sweden, and Dock 72 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, New York, USA.
This year’s jury will be chaired by Przemo Łukasik of Medusa Group. His fellow jurors in the selection of the most beautiful building featuring systems by ALUPROF are well-known and esteemed architects and industry representatives Maciej Franta, Karol Fiedor, Bożenna Wawrzyniak-Mańko, Elżbieta Dziubak and Zbigniew Poraj.
