A ventilation system is
essential in energy
efficiency measures. In fact,
high air-tightness
performance of the
building, given by
insulation of the
enclosure and
replacement of windows
and doors, risks creating
problems of air stagnation
in the absence of adequate
and frequent ventilation.
Stale air and the inability to evacuate
the moisture content of the air promotes
the formation of condensation and
mould at critical points. It is not just an
aesthetic problem, but a health issue for
those who live in the home: mould is
only the visible part of an environment
that traps numerous other pollutants
that accumulate in the air in the absence
of a regular and frequent change of air.
The conversion of the existing heritage
requires a design that takes into account
energy perform
ance without neglecting
air quality in increasingly airtight
environments.
Heat recovery ventilation (HRV) systems
are an essential ingredient in ensuring a
comfortable and healthy environment
while meeting energy saving targets.

Flow Manhattan is Helty's reinvention of dual-flow
point ventilation for individual rooms, offering designers
and customers a solution designed to be installed at the
same time as the external cladding.

A completely outdoor solution,
which has minimal impact on the
design of the house and
guarantees the highest levels of
comfort
Flow Manhattan is based on a
totally new type of installation
in which the air handling unit
is camouflaged in the
insulation layer. The
air flow
grilles, managed in the light in
the window cutaway,
safeguarding the architectural
profile of the building,
avoiding any impact on the
facade.
The impact on the interior
has also been reduced to
zero, with a white
rectangular dashboard for air
diffusion and extraction,
characterised by particularly
small dimensions and a
minimalist design. The
installation requires a single
160 mm diameter bore
through which
separate supply and extract
air flows travel. The
formwork fixed to the
external wall at the same
time as the insulation is
installed also allows for the
preparation of the HRV
system alone, which
can be completed with the
inclusion of the ventilation
machine at a later stage.

that you can feel
The unit extracts stale air from the indoor environment and
injects new, oxygenated and clean air thanks to the special
F7+G1 filters fitted as standard. Ventilation speeds are
variable according to requirements with a maximum flow
rate
of 70m3/h.
The enthalpy heat exchanger recovers up to 70% of
the heat of the outgoing air by pre-heating the fresh
air flow.
The most accessorised models integrate an on-board
hygrometric sensor, CO2 and VOC sensor for monitoring
important indoor air quality parameters, control via
detachable panel and Air Guard Wi-Fi app.

portion of the perimeter wall, inside the cladding, Helty Flow
Manhattan ensures excellent sound performance for
optimal acoustic comfort, with a sound pressure of
16.5 dB at minimum speed.
